We collect information you provide directly, information collected automatically, and information from third parties you connect (like Google Sign-In):

• Account information: name, email address, and profile details you provide or that your identity provider shares with us.
• Learning activity: lessons completed, code and SQL you submit for grading, quiz answers, XP, streaks, and achievement progress.
• Payment information: subscription tier and billing status. Actual card/UPI details are handled entirely by our payment processors (Google Play Billing, Razorpay) — we never see or store full payment credentials.
• Device & usage data: IP address, browser/device type, pages visited, and general usage analytics.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, operate, and improve the Service, including grading your code and tracking your progress.
• Personalize your learning path and show accurate lock/unlock state for lessons and modules.
• Process payments and manage your subscription.
• Send service-related communications (progress reminders, billing notices) and, where you've opted in, product updates.
• Maintain security, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations.

4. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:

• Service providers who help us operate the Service (hosting, analytics, payment processing, email delivery), under contractual confidentiality obligations.
• Payment processors (Google Play Billing, Razorpay) to complete transactions.
• Other users, but only what you choose to make public — for example, a certificate you claim gets a public verification page, and a portfolio page you enable is publicly visible.
• Authorities, where required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of epochai or others.

5. Certificates & Public Pages

When you earn a certificate, its verification code, your display name, the module title, and the issue date become publicly viewable by anyone with the code — this is by design, so certificates can be independently verified by employers or peers. You can request removal of a certificate from public verification by contacting support, though this may affect your ability to prove completion later.

6. Children's Privacy

The Service is intended for users capable of entering into a binding agreement in their jurisdiction (generally 13+, or higher where local law requires). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children below the applicable age without appropriate parental consent. If you believe a child has provided us information in violation of this policy, contact us and we will take steps to delete it.

7. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time from Settings or by contacting support.
